The project is located in one of the wharfs inHunan province. It is the first large –scale intelligent wharf for sand making,screening, storing and conveying, by integrating intelligent crushing andscreening equipment, intelligent storing and conveying devices, automatic DCS,IoT and cloud computing technology together. Its design capacity is 3000 t/heither for on shore or on river. It ranks among the top plants in China inaspects of capacity and equipment level. With the help of IoT intelligentsystem, this project integrates new generation of information technology withtraditional sand & stone production in wharf, covering the full process ofsand dredging, washing, crushing, screening, storing and ship loading, whichhas greatly enhanced the enterprise management level and production efficiency,and promoted the industry development as well. As a strategic practice of thecompany following lead of Industry 4.0 and China’s intelligent manufacturinglayout, this project has accelerated the industry progress, brought benefits toenterprise itself, as well as set up a new milestone for the industrydevelopment at the same time.
1. Mobile Sand Washing andCrushing System on Ship
By designing the crushing plant on sand washingship, the mobile sand washing and crushing system has many advantages, likesimple process flow, lower investment, and easy sewage treatment, etc., becausethe overall distribution of equipment is more concentrated, and it is easy for theship to move on the riverside. A recycling system for tailings was alsodesigned on the ship to increase the utilization rate of crude sand.
2. Wharf yard IntelligentWarehousing System
The wharf yard can be divided into three-layerstructure in space: the sky gallery tripper, the ground stock piles, and theunderground loading and conveying device. The intelligent warehousing system isused for managing the storage of finished products on the storage yard. Itsfunctions include automatic detection of stock piles height, displaying storagestatus for all stock piles, making overall arrangement for the discharge pointsof trippers, real-time monitoring on product stock, and statistical analysis ofhistorical inventory, etc.
3. IntelligentShip Loading System
Intelligent Ship Loading System is used for the statistics of inputquantity, ship loading quantity and stock quantity in the wharf yard. Itsfunctions include automatic statistics of production quantity, inventory, andshipped quantity for each of the three kind of finished products, as well as makingoverall selection for discharging hoppers, etc.
4. Video Surveillance System
This systemprovides full-line video surveillance for crushing and screening, wharfstorage, and ship loading and conveying areas, as well as the perimetersituations. Operators can monitor the production site visually through the bigled screen in the control room, to facilitate production scheduling for them.

Comprehensive Line Status Monitoring:This interface displays general information, like production flow chart /field location / weather information and so on, and dynamic information for the whole production line in real time, such as line output and worktime by shift/day/month, parameter data for major equipment, alarm information for equipment and production line activities, etc.
Detailed Information for Equipment: This interface shows more detailed information for each equipment being monitored, like the machine model, on-off status, worktime, data / chart for multiple state parameters, warning and fault information, etc.
Warehouse Inventory Monitoring: Input, output, and inventory for every spec of the finished product.
Automatic Loading/Unloading Monitoring: Unloading records for the raw material, and the loading records for finished products.
Live Video Surveillance: The platform also provides an access to the live video of the production activities on site.
Query for Statistical Analysis: Statistical data and analysis are also available on the platform, such as production line capability, accumulative output by shift, sales records, equipment performance, alarm records, operation and management performance etc.
